- Those who love your law have great peace;
they encounter no stumbling blocks. - Speak out for those who cannot speak for themselves,
and defend the rights of the destitute. - Because I delivered the poor who appealed for help
and the orphan who had no one to protect him.
The blessing of the wretched was given to me,
and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy. - Amen, amen, I say to you,
whoever receives the one I send
receives me,
and whoever receives me
receives the one who sent me. - Jesus replied, “Blessed, rather, are those who hear the word of God and obey it!”
- No, throughout all these things we are conquerors because of him who loved us.
- If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, then the one who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit that dwells in you.
- Those who live according to the flesh fix their attention on the things of the flesh, while those who live according to the Spirit set their thoughts on spiritual things.
- The Lord abhors lying lips,
but he delights in those who are truthful. - All those who have sinned outside the Law will perish outside the Law, and all who sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law.
- Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. - Woe to anyone who rises up against his Maker,
or to the pot that is displeased with the potter.
Does the clay say to the one who molds it,
“What are you doing?
Your work makes no sense.” - One who finds a wife finds happiness
and receives favor from the Lord. - Jesus replied,
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
everyone who sins
is a slave of sin.” - Every word of God has proved to be true;
he is a shield to those who trust in him. - Be on guard against false prophets who come to you disguised in sheep’s clothing, but who inwardly are ravenous wolves.
- Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice,
for they will have their fill. - He gave himself for us in order to deliver us from all iniquity and to purify for himself a people as his own who are eager to do good.
- O Lord, you are kind and forgiving,
filled with kindness for all who cry to you. - All this has been done by God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ and entrusted us with the ministry of reconciliation.
- But who am I, and what are your people,
that we should be able to do this?
All things belong to you,
and everything that we have given you is from your hand. - God is Spirit,
and those who worship him
must worship in Spirit and truth. - Indeed, persecution will afflict all who want to lead a godly life in Christ Jesus.
- As Scripture asserts, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.”
- Come to me, all you who are weary and overburdened, and I will give you rest.
Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from anything that can defile flesh or spirit, and thereby make our holiness perfect in the fear of God. You who abide in the shelter of the Most High,
who rest in the shadow of the Almighty,
say to the Lord, “You are my refuge and my fortress,
my God in whom I place my trust.”Next verse!With image
