- Indeed, the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

whoever receives the one I send
receives me,
and whoever receives me
receives the one who sent me. - The Lord redeems the lives of those who serve him;

for sin is lawlessness. - No one who conceals his transgressions will prosper,
but one who confesses and renounces them will obtain mercy. - No one has ever seen God.
It is the only Son, God,
who is at the Father’s side,
who has made him known. - The one who leads a blameless life
and does what is right,
who speaks the truth from the heart
and does not slander anyone,
who does not harm a friend
and does not scorn a neighbor.
