Who (3/4)

Better to be patient than powerful; better to have self-control than to conquer a city.It is better to be a patient man rather than a warrior, one who controls his temper rather than one who captures a city.
My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.And now it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. The life I live now in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself up for me.
Then he said to them, “Anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me also welcomes my Father who sent me. Whoever is the least among you is the greatest.”And said to them, “Whoever receives this child in my name receives me; and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me. For the one who is least among all of you is the one who is the greatest.”
But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.However, to those who did accept him and who believed in his name he granted the power to become children of God.
Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly. The future bodes well for him who is generous in helping those in need and who conducts his affairs with justice.
So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord!Be strong and courageous in your hearts, all you who place your hope in the Lord.
So Jesus told them, “My message is not my own; it comes from God who sent me.”Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not my own; rather, it comes from him who sent me.”
In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!In the same way, I tell you, there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.
God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.Blessed is the man who perseveres when he is tempted, for when he has been proven, he will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers. This is the commandment we have received from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. He will not permit your foot to stumble; he who guards you will not fall asleep.
We are witnesses of these things and so is the Holy Spirit, who is given by God to those who obey him.And we are witnesses to these things, as is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him.
He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers. To those who seek after glory and honor and immortality by persevering in good works, he will grant eternal life.
Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble. Those who love your law have great peace; they encounter no stumbling blocks.
How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world. How great is your goodness, O Lord, which you have stored up for those who fear you and which you bestow on those who take refuge in you, in the presence of all the people.
When Jesus heard this, he said, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do.”When Jesus heard this, he said, “It is not the healthy who need a physician, but rather those who are sick.”
Anyone who denies the Son doesn’t have the Father, either. But anyone who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father, but whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us!But who am I, and what are your people, that we should be able to do this? All things belong to you, and everything that we have given you is from your hand.
Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.Instruct those who are rich in this world’s goods that they should not be proud, nor should they trust in the uncertainty of riches but rather in God who richly provides us with everything we need for our enjoyment.
Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. Those who live according to the flesh fix their attention on the things of the flesh, while those who live according to the Spirit set their thoughts on spiritual things.
And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who are peacemakers.
Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed.Speak out for those who cannot speak for themselves, and defend the rights of the destitute.
But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments! But from everlasting to everlasting the kindness of the Lord is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children, with those who keep his covenant and diligently observe his commandments.
Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.”I then heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me!”
Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.

No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.No, throughout all these things we are conquerors because of him who loved us.

Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child?
Can she feel no love for the child she has borne?
But even if that were possible,
I would not forget you!
See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands.
Always in my mind is a picture of Jerusalem’s walls in ruins.
