| Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. | Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. |
| Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the Lord will be joyful. | Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord. |
| Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts. | Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart. |
| But the one who endures to the end will be saved. | But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. |
| Those who control their tongue will have a long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything. | Those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin. |
| And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. | And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. |

| Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. | Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. |
| Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. | Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. |
| Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell. | Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. |
| Praise the Lord; praise God our savior! For each day he carries us in his arms. | Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. |
| Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them. | Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me.
