Who (3/4)

Better to be patient than powerful; better to have self-control than to conquer a city.Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.
My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Then he said to them, “Anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me also welcomes my Father who sent me. Whoever is the least among you is the greatest.”Then he said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.”
But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly.Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice.
So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord!Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.
So Jesus told them, “My message is not my own; it comes from God who sent me.”Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me.”
In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber.
We are witnesses of these things and so is the Holy Spirit, who is given by God to those who obey him.We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.
He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers. To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.
Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble.Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.
How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world. How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in you.
When Jesus heard this, he said, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do.”On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.”
Anyone who denies the Son doesn’t have the Father, either. But anyone who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us!But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.
Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.

His salvation extends to the children’s children of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments! But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children— with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts.
Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.”Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
