- And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.
- Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
- Better a patient person than a warrior,
one with self-control than one who takes a city. - Then he said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.”
- But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
- Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.
- Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” - On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.”
- Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.
- Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.
- The one whose walk is blameless,
who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from their heart;
whose tongue utters no slander,
who does no wrong to a neighbor,
and casts no slur on others. - Be still before the Lord
and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes. - God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
- But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.
- Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.
- One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. - And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise.
- Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me.”
- How abundant are the good things
that you have stored up for those who fear you,
that you bestow in the sight of all,
on those who take refuge in you. - Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
- I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
- He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber. - Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers,
and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord. - Who is a God like you,
who pardons sin and forgives the transgression
of the remnant of his inheritance?
You do not stay angry forever
but delight to show mercy. - God “will repay each person according to what they have done.”
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
