| Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. | Therefore, you have no excuse, whoever you may be, when you pass judgment on others. For in judging others you condemn yourself, since you are doing the same things. |
| Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. | Abba, Father, for you all things are possible. Take this cup from me. Yet not my will but yours be done. |

| But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine. | As for you, teach what is consistent with sound doctrine. |
| Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. | Consequently, anyone united to Christ is a new creation. The old order has passed away. Behold, all has become new. |

| And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. | And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do as much. |
| But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. | However, the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I have said to you. |
| Let all your things be done with charity. | Everything that you do should be done in love. |
| Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. | Out of the same mouth flow blessings and curses. This should not be so, my brethren. |
| Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come: That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles. | But I have had help from God to this very day, and I stand here and testify to both the lowly and the great. I assert nothing more than what the Prophets and Moses said would occur: that the Christ must suffer, and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light to the people and to the Gentiles. |
| But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. | But as for you, man of God, you must shun all this. Rather, pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, fortitude, and gentleness. |
| And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. | He replied, “What is impossible for men is possible for God.” |
| He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? | He did not spare his own Son but gave him up for all of us. How then can he fail also to give us everything else along with him? |
| Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. | Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we can approach God with confidence and receive from him whatever we ask, because we obey his commandments and do whatever is pleasing to him. |
| And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. | Over all these put on love, which is the bond of perfection. |
| For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. | For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the Spirit, and those of the Spirit are opposed to the flesh. They are in conflict with one another, so that you cannot do what you want. |
| But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee. | But who am I, and what are your people, that we should be able to do this? All things belong to you, and everything that we have given you is from your hand. |
| I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass. | I, I alone, am the one who comforts you. Why then do you fear mortal men who must die, human beings who must perish like grass? |
| Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the Lord are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein. | Let those who are wise understand these words, and let the prudent acknowledge them. For straight are the ways of the Lord; the upright walk in them, but sinners stumble. |
| Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. | Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God. |
| And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. | The entire community of believers was united in heart and soul. No one claimed any of his possessions as his own, for everything was held in common. |
| And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. | After he said this, he was lifted up as they looked on, and a cloud took him from their sight. |
| But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. | In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things. |
