Why do bad things happen (2/4)

And if you say in your heart, ‘How will we recognize the word which the Lord has not spoken?’ When the prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, and the thing does not happen or come true, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you are not to be afraid of him.You might say to yourself, “How can we know that the Lord did not speak the message?” If what the prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord is not true and it does not happen, then the message was not proclaimed by the Lord. The prophet has spoken presumptuously, you should not fear him.
Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all things for the glory of God.Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.
For from Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.
But Jesus said to him, “ ‘If You can’? All things are possible for the one who believes.”Jesus answered, “If it is possible! All things are possible for one who has faith.”
And we are witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him.And we are witnesses to these things, as is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him.
He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.The one who gives this testimony says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.I have told you these things so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.
All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being.Through him all things came into existence, and without him there was nothing. That which came to be.
As for the things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.Do the things that you have learned, received, and heard from me and that you saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all is God.
The end of all things is near; therefore, be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer.The end of all things is near. Therefore, lead disciplined lives and be watchful in prayer.
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you.Rather, seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. So they do it to obtain a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.Everyone who seeks a prize submits himself to rigorous self-discipline in every respect. They do so to win a perishable crown, while we seek an imperishable one.
And looking at them, Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”Jesus looked at them and said, “For men this is impossible, but for God all things are possible.”
Only fear the Lord and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with your whole heart, considering the great things he has done for you.
It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him.He reveals deep and hidden mysteries and knows what lies in the darkness, for light dwells with him.
His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter the joy of your master.’His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. Since you have been faithful in small matters, I will give you much greater responsibilities. Come and share your master’s joy.’
Looking at them, Jesus said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.”Jesus looked at them and said, “For men it is impossible, but not for God. For God all things are possible.”
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, this person is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.Consequently, anyone united to Christ is a new creation. The old order has passed away. Behold, all has become new.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think about these things.Finally, brethren, let your minds be filled with whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, whatever is excellent, whatever is worthy of praise.
Praise the Lord in song, for He has done glorious things; Let this be known throughout the earth.Sing praise to the Lord for his mighty deeds; let this be known throughout the entire world.
Abba! Father! All things are possible for You; remove this cup from Me; yet not what I will, but what You will.Abba, Father, for you all things are possible. Take this cup from me. Yet not my will but yours be done.
Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will do it.The one who calls you is faithful, and he will accomplish this.
But as for you, proclaim the things which are fitting for sound doctrine.As for you, teach what is consistent with sound doctrine.
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.We know that God makes all things work together for good for those who love him and who are called according to his purpose.

Do not participate in the useless deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.Take no part in the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather seek to expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of what deeds people do in secret.
