In the land of the living. - For one will hardly die for a righteous person; though perhaps for the good person someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
- Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost sinner Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.
- For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
- That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner self, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love.

Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? - In the exercise of His will He gave us birth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures.
- I am not asking You to take them out of the world, but to keep them away from the evil one.
- “Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked,” declares the Lord God, “rather than that he would turn from his ways and live?”
- With his mouth the godless person destroys his neighbor,
But through knowledge the righteous will be rescued. - You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.
- Turn to my rebuke,
Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you;
I will make my words known to you. - For,
“The one who desires life, to love and see good days,
Must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.
He must turn away from evil and do good;
He must seek peace and pursue it.” - Paul said, “John baptized with a baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”
- The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came so that they would have life, and have it abundantly.
- For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin.
- It is not this way among you, but whoever wants to become prominent among you shall be your servant, and whoever desires to be first among you shall be your slave.
- And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for the one who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He proves to be One who rewards those who seek Him.

- And if he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, he is to be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.

- That they were saying to you, “In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.” These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit.
- Or do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions of angels?
- What then if you see the Son of Man ascending to where He was before?
- For you have been called for this purpose, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you would follow in His steps.
- And he would answer and say to them, “The one who has two tunics is to share with the one who has none; and the one who has food is to do likewise.”

As much as in all riches. - Not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you would inherit a blessing.
- For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, this is the one who will save it.
- For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it?
- For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.
- See how great a love the Father has given us, that we would be called children of God; and in fact we are. For this reason the world does not know us: because it did not know Him.
- You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by the Law; you have fallen from grace.
- One who conceals an offense seeks love,
But one who repeats a matter separates close friends. - And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”
- For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.
- Now I make known to you, brothers and sisters, the gospel which I preached to you, which you also received, in which you also stand, by which you also are saved, if you hold firmly to the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.
- By faith even Sarah herself received ability to conceive, even beyond the proper time of life, since she considered Him faithful who had promised.
- He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?
