| Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? | Therefore, heed my words. Do not be concerned about your life and what you will have to eat or drink, or about your body and what you will wear. Surely life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. |
| The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. | The Lord will battle for you. Be calm! |

| For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. | For you did not receive a spirit of slavery leading to fear; rather, you received the Spirit of adoption, enabling us to cry out, “Abba! Father!” |
| Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. | You have already been cleansed by the word I have spoken to you. |
| Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. | You did not choose me. Rather, I chose you. And I appointed you to go out and bear fruit, fruit that will remain, so that the Father may give you whatever you ask him in my name. |
| But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. | He who called you is holy. Therefore, be holy yourselves in all your conduct. For Scripture says, “Be holy, for I am holy.” |
| I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. | I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever abides in me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. Apart from me you can do nothing. |
| And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. | And whenever you stand in prayer, forgive whatever grievance you have against anybody, so that your Father in heaven may forgive your wrongs too. |
| If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. | Therefore, if the Son sets you free, you then will truly be free. |
| Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. | Therefore, keep watch, for you do not know the day when your Lord is coming. |
| Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. | Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. |
| And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring. | When you look at the tassels, you will remember the commandments of the Lord and keep them. Thus you will not prostitute yourselves by following after the lusts in your own heart or your own eyes. |
| Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. | Do not let your hearts be troubled. You place your trust in God. Trust also in me. |
| If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. | If the world hates you, be aware that it hated me before it hated you. |
| Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. | It is the Lord, your God, whom you are to follow. You must fear him and observe his commandments and obey what he tells you and serve him and hold fast to him. |
| This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. | This is my commandment: love one another as I have loved you. |
| Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord. | Let everything that breathes offer praise to the Lord. Alleluia. |
| What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? | What then if you were to behold the Son of Man ascend to where he was before? |
| Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. | Do not repay evil with evil or abuse with abuse. On the contrary, repay with a blessing. This is what you were called to do, so that you might inherit a blessing. |
| Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. | Keep alert; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. |
| Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am the Lord. | You shall observe my commandments and obey them. I am the Lord. |
| Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord. | Observe my Sabbaths and stand in awe before my sanctuary. I am the Lord. |
| These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. | I have told you this so that in me you may be in peace. In the world you will endure suffering. But take courage! I have overcome the world. |
| But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. | But as for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and therefore you do not need anyone to teach you. This same anointing teaches you everything and is true and not false, so abide in him just as he taught you. |
