| Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. | Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you will abide in the Son and in the Father. |
| In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. | In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? |
| But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost. | When they bring you to trial and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say; but say whatever is given you at that time, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. |
| Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? | Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? |
| Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. | Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. |

| Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. | Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you. |
| He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? | Well then, does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles among you by your doing the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard? |
| And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you. | Even to your old age I am he, even when you turn gray I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save. |
| And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. | If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. |
| For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. | For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. |
| Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. | So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. |
| Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. | You must neither add anything to what I command you nor take away anything from it, but keep the commandments of the Lord your God with which I am charging you. |
