| And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? | Now who will harm you if you are eager to do what is good? |

| Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. | Nevertheless I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. |
| Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? | Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? |
| For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. | For I am longing to see you so that I may share with you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— or rather so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine. |
| Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. | So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. |
| And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever. | And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever. |
| And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. | If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. |
| And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house. | I did not shrink from doing anything helpful, proclaiming the message to you and teaching you publicly and from house to house. |
| These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. | I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete. |
| Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. | Ye shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess. | You must follow exactly the path that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live, and that it may go well with you, and that you may live long in the land that you are to possess. |
| And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. | I will put my spirit within you, and make you follow my statutes and be careful to observe my ordinances. |
| Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. | Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you. |
| Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken. | Seek good and not evil, that you may live; and so the Lord, the God of hosts, will be with you, just as you have said. |
