- It was not by their sword that they won the land,
nor did their arm bring them victory;
it was your right hand, your arm,
and the light of your face, for you loved them. - Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me. - Children’s children are a crown to the aged,
and parents are the pride of their children. - But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’
- Start children off on the way they should go,
and even when they are old they will not turn from it. - These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
- And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise.
- Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then I will be confident. - I, even I, am he who comforts you.
Who are you that you fear mere mortals,
human beings who are but grass. - But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
- Blessed are those who keep his statutes
and seek him with all their heart. - She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.
- Before a word is on my tongue
you, Lord, know it completely. - If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
- Oh, that their hearts would be inclined to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that it might go well with them and their children forever!
- And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
- Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
- In their hearts humans plan their course,
but the Lord establishes their steps. - Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.

- By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
their starry host by the breath of his mouth. - For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
- When I fed them, they were satisfied;
when they were satisfied, they became proud;
then they forgot me. - Those who guard their lips preserve their lives,
but those who speak rashly will come to ruin. - For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.
If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit.I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
