  • It was not by their sword that they won the land,
    nor did their arm bring them victory;
    it was your right hand, your arm,
    and the light of your face, for you loved them.

  • And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
  • Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
  • In their hearts humans plan their course,
    but the Lord establishes their steps.
  • Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.
  • But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
  • By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
    their starry host by the breath of his mouth.
  • For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
  • When I fed them, they were satisfied;
    when they were satisfied, they became proud;
    then they forgot me.
  • Those who guard their lips preserve their lives,
    but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.
  • For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
    and his ears are attentive to their prayer,
    but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.

If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit.
