- But he knoweth the way that I take:
when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
My foot hath held his steps,
his way have I kept, and not declined. - Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the Lord;
and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you:
for I am merciful, saith the Lord,
and I will not keep anger for ever. - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
- For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
- I love the Lord, because he hath heard
my voice and my supplications.
Because he hath inclined his ear unto me,
therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. - I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
- Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
- And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
- A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
- But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.
- I have blotted out, as a thick cloud,
thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins:
return unto me;
for I have redeemed thee. - In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
- Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.
- Turn you at my reproof:
behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you,
I will make known my words unto you. - I made haste, and delayed not
to keep thy commandments. - The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
the Lord is the strength of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid? - The Lord is my portion, saith my soul;
therefore will I hope in him. - Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips;
I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. - I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
- I cried unto him with my mouth,
and he was extolled with my tongue. - Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
- I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.
- One thing have I desired of the Lord,
that will I seek after;
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to behold the beauty of the Lord,
and to enquire in his temple. - Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord.
- When I said, My foot slippeth;
thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.Delight thyself also in the Lord:
and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
