- Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him, and he will act.
He will bring forth your righteousness as the light,
and your justice as the noonday. - But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?
- I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
- So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
- For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake.
- And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
- But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.
- But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him.
- Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
- But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
- Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
- For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
- You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
- And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.
- Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him,
but the righteous shall live by his faith. - For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence,
for my hope is from him. - For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.
- The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth. - So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
- I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
- Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’
- For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.
- The steps of a man are established by the Lord,
when he delights in his way. - And they stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on his head and put a reed in his right hand. And kneeling before him, they mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
- The Lord is with you while you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.
