- But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
- He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.
- Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
- Without counsel purposes are disappointed:
but in the multitude of counsellors they are established. - But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
- Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
- Sing unto the Lord; for he hath done excellent things:
this is known in all the earth. - Let the words of my mouth,
and the meditation of my heart,
be acceptable in thy sight,
O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. - Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the Lord thy God giveth thee, for ever.
- Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.
- But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.
- Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
- He will not suffer thy foot to be moved:
he that keepeth thee will not slumber. - This is the day which the Lord hath made;
we will rejoice and be glad in it. - Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
- As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
- Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Lord:
let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me. - Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
- Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the Lord are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.
- Ponder the path of thy feet,
and let all thy ways be established. - And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.
- Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
- Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
- Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
- Wherefore now let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the Lord our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.Next verse!With image
