  • And the Lord God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them.
  • For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.

  • Blessed is the man

    nor sits in the seat of scoffers.

    he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him.
  • With the merciful you show yourself merciful;
    with the blameless man you show yourself blameless.
  • A man of many companions may come to ruin,
    but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
  • A man's gift makes room for him
    and brings him before the great.
  • Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;
    fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way,
    over the man who carries out evil devices!
  • For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
  • Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
  • The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
    the righteous man runs into it and is safe.
  • He has told you, O man, what is good;
    and what does the Lord require of you
    but to do justice, and to love kindness,
    and to walk humbly with your God?
  • With his mouth the godless man would destroy his neighbor,
    but by knowledge the righteous are delivered.
  • And that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love.
    For you will render to a man
    according to his work.
  • For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
  • They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, in the day when I make up my treasured possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him.
  • The vexation of a fool is known at once,
    but the prudent ignores an insult.
  • Do not envy a man of violence
    and do not choose any of his ways,
    for the devious person is an abomination to the Lord,
    but the upright are in his confidence.
  • Behold, blessed is the one whom God reproves;
    therefore despise not the discipline of the Almighty.
  • And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
  • The prudent sees danger and hides himself,
    but the simple go on and suffer for it.
  • He who finds a wife finds a good thing
    and obtains favor from the Lord.
  • All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
