Chinese (traditional)Bible Verses about Selfishness
- Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility regard others as better than yourselves.
- Do not seek your own advantage, but that of the other.
- Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful.
- For where there is envy and selfish ambition, there will also be disorder and wickedness of every kind.
- A generous person will be enriched,
and one who gives water will get water. - Each of us must please our neighbor for the good purpose of building up the neighbor.
- A fool takes no pleasure in understanding,
but only in expressing personal opinion. - The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.
- Do not deceive yourselves. If you think that you are wise in this age, you should become fools so that you may become wise.
- Turn my heart to your decrees,
and not to selfish gain. - And it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
- But I do not count my life of any value to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the good news of God's grace.
- He called the crowd with his disciples, and said to them, “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”
Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise.Next verse! With image
