- Wake up righteously and don’t sin, for some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
- “Come now, and let’s reason together,” says Yahweh:
“Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.
Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” - But the Scripture imprisoned all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
- I have hidden your word in my heart,
that I might not sin against you. - Righteousness exalts a nation,
but sin is a disgrace to any people. - For sin will not have dominion over you, for you are not under law, but under grace.
- For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed.
- I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.
- But he was pierced for our transgressions.
He was crushed for our iniquities.
The punishment that brought our peace was on him;
and by his wounds we are healed. - Wash yourselves. Make yourself clean.
Put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes.
Cease to do evil. - But if the wicked turns from all his sins that he has committed, and keeps all my statutes, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live. He shall not die.
- Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind; for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.
- Also, do not present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
- The way of Yahweh is a stronghold to the upright,
but it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity. - This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
- He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul,
but he who is contemptuous in his ways shall die. - Namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation.
- Their eyes were opened, and they both knew that they were naked. They sewed fig leaves together, and made coverings for themselves.
- I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions,
and, as a cloud, your sins.
Return to me, for I have redeemed you. - In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
- When I kept silence, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.
- You lust, and don’t have. You murder and covet, and can’t obtain. You fight and make war. You don’t have, because you don’t ask.
- Therefore let’s also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with perseverance the race that is set before us.
- But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
- As far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
