Chinese (traditional)But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil.
Pride and arrogance and the way of evil
and perverted speech I hate. He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.” You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast to him. Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant. Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters. He who withholds kindness from a friend
forsakes the fear of the Almighty. Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners. So that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Remember your mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love,
for they have been from of old.
Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
according to your steadfast love remember me,
for the sake of your goodness, O Lord! Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent. That is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Cast your burden on the Lord,
and he will sustain you;
he will never permit
the righteous to be moved. Let all that you do be done in love. For as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous. If you will not listen, if you will not take it to heart to give honor to my name, says the Lord of hosts, then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings. Indeed, I have already cursed them, because you do not lay it to heart. Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so. Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise;
when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent. As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? With his mouth the godless man would destroy his neighbor,
but by knowledge the righteous are delivered. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,
on those who hope in his steadfast love. But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction. He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
