Chinese (traditional)The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us. Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. The Lord will rescue his servants;
no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. No one should seek their own good, but the good of others. But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. You are my hiding place;
you will protect me from trouble
and surround me with songs of deliverance. For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. Whoever would foster love covers over an offense,
but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends. He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time. But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit. Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. For he satisfies the thirsty
and fills the hungry with good things. Whoever walks in integrity walks securely,
but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out. For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever. Direct my footsteps according to your word;
let no sin rule over me. For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. The wise in heart accept commands,
but a chattering fool comes to ruin. The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you. My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline,
and do not resent his rebuke,
because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
as a father the son he delights in. The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Let your face shine on your servant;
save me in your unfailing love. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. Who is he, this King of glory?
The Lord Almighty—
he is the King of glory. Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?Next verse!With image
