Chinese (traditional)But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Without counsel, plans go wrong,
but with many advisers they succeed. For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. Because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal. As a father has compassion for his children,
so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him. For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Keep your heart with all vigilance,
for from it flow the springs of life. Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
He leads the humble in what is right,
and teaches the humble his way. Blessed is anyone who endures temptation. Such a one has stood the test and will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. Then he led them out as far as Bethany, and, lifting up his hands, he blessed them. While he was blessing them, he withdrew from them and was carried up into heaven. For it was you who formed my inward parts;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
that I know very well. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace for those who make peace. Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, as indeed you are doing. This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it. Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him, and he will act.
He will make your vindication shine like the light,
and the justice of your cause like the noonday. Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Discipline yourselves, keep alert. Like a roaring lion your adversary the devil prowls around, looking for someone to devour. For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
abounding in steadfast love to all who call on you. He has told you, O mortal, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God? Conduct yourselves wisely toward outsiders, making the most of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone. I love the Lord, because he has heard
my voice and my supplications.
Because he inclined his ear to me,
therefore I will call on him as long as I live. All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name. For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline.Next verse!With image
