Chinese (traditional)The hand of the diligent will rule,
while the slothful will be put to forced labor. Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. But godliness with contentment is great gain. The Lord is my strength and my shield;
in him my heart trusts, and I am helped;
my heart exults,
and with my song I give thanks to him. But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.” Surely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
smitten by God, and afflicted. When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. A man's gift makes room for him
and brings him before the great. Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. Blessed are those who keep his testimonies,
who seek him with their whole heart. I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul. Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy
blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin! Seek the Lord and his strength;
seek his presence continually! And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my salvation and my God. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name! Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Every word of God proves true;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ. O God, you are my God;
earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land
where there is no water. Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord! But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil,
but those who plan peace have joy.
