Chinese (traditional)If I have the gift of prophecy
and the ability to understand all mysteries and all knowledge,
and have all the faith necessary to move mountains,
but do not have love,
I am nothing. He did not spare his own Son but gave him up for all of us. How then can he fail also to give us everything else along with him? A gentle reply turns away wrath,
but a harsh word arouses anger. For the entire Law can be summed up in a single commandment: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Since in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor lack of circumcision is worth anything. All that matters is faith expressing itself through love. Great is the Lord and worthy of the highest praise;
no one can even begin to comprehend his greatness. However, to those who did accept him
and who believed in his name
he granted the power to become children of God. And thus we can have confidence in him
that if we ask anything
that is in accordance with his will,
he hears us. Train a child in the way he should go,
and he will not deviate from it, even in old age. Therefore, let us cease passing judgment on one another, but rather judge never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother. Who then can separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or the sword? May he give you your heart’s desire
and grant you success in all your plans. No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a pot or places it under a bed. Rather he places it on a lampstand so that those who enter may see the light. I ask that from the riches of his glory he may grant through his Spirit that you be strengthened with power in your inner being and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. He has satisfied the thirsty
and filled the hungry with good things. A good man produces good from the store of goodness in his heart, whereas an evil man produces evil from the store of evil within him. For the mouth speaks from the abundance of the heart. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Be still and acknowledge that I am God,
exalted among the nations,
exalted on the earth. As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. He said to them in reply, “Anyone who has two coats must share with the person who has none, and whoever has food must do likewise.” The fear of the Lord provides instruction in wisdom,
and to be humble is the way to honor. If you confess with your lips, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. All those who keep his commandments abide in him,
and he abides in them.
And the proof that he abides in us
is the Spirit that he has given us. For his anger lasts for only a moment,
while his goodwill endures for a lifetime.
Weeping may last throughout the night,
but at daybreak there is rejoicing. If you are angry, do not sin. Do not let the sun set on your anger, and do not give the devil an opening. For I know full well the plans I have for you, plans for your welfare and not for your misfortune, plans that will offer you a future filled with hope. For who is God except the Lord?
Who is a rock aside from our God? If you love me,
you will keep my commandments. Rather, be kind to one another and compassionate, and forgive one another as God has forgiven you in Christ. Just as you do not know the path of the wind
or how the body is formed in a woman’s womb,
so you do not know the work of God,
the Creator of all. The Lord will become king over the whole earth. When that day comes, he will be the only Lord, and his name will be the only name. Do not be deceived; God cannot be mocked. A person will reap only what he sows. You did not choose me.
Rather, I chose you.
And I appointed you
to go out and bear fruit,
fruit that will remain,
so that the Father may give you
whatever you ask him in my name.Next verse! With image
