Chinese (traditional)A fool takes no pleasure in understanding
but only delights in expressing his own opinions. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God who has marked you with his seal for the day of redemption. Let the word of Christ with all its richness dwell in you. Teach and admonish one another in all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God with gratitude in your hearts. He will never be swayed;
the righteous man will be remembered forever. For you know that the testing of your faith will develop perseverance. For one believes in the heart and so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved. Speak out for those who cannot speak for themselves,
and defend the rights of the destitute. The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these. Hear, O Israel, the Lord, our God, is Lord alone. You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. You are my refuge and my shield;
I put my hope in your word. Therefore, keep watch, for you do not know the day when your Lord is coming. God is not human, that he should lie,
or the son of man, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act,
does he promise and then not fulfill it? The Lord does not delay in keeping his promise, as some think in terms of delay, but he is patient with you. It is not his wish that any should perish but rather that all should be brought to repentance. They shall be mine,
says the Lord of hosts,
my own special possession
on the day when I act,
and I will have compassion on them
as a father has compassion
on the son who serves him. Blessed be the God,
and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us in Christ
with every spiritual blessing in the heavens. Yours, O Lord, are greatness,
power, glory, strength, and majesty,
for everything in heaven and on earth is yours.
Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all. If anyone would boast, let him boast in the Lord. For it is not the one who commends himself who is really approved, but the one whom the Lord commends. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens,
and let your glory shine over all the earth. Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that at the proper time he may exalt you. Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from anything that can defile flesh or spirit, and thereby make our holiness perfect in the fear of God. My son, concentrate attentively on my words;
pay heed to the instructions I pass on to you.
Do not let them slip from your mind;
keep them forever in your heart. Yet even now, says the Lord,
return to me with all your heart,
with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning. From that day forward Jesus began to proclaim the message: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand.” The precepts of the Lord are right,
causing the heart to rejoice.
The commands of the Lord are clear,
giving light to the eyes. This is my commandment:
love one another
as I have loved you. Let your kindness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. If you would seriously consider my reproof,
I would pour out my thoughts to you
and make my precepts known to you. In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity but rather a spirit of power and of love and of wisdom. He gives a home to those who are forsaken
and leads out prisoners amid chants of exultation,
while rebels are forced to live in an arid land. He did not spare his own Son but gave him up for all of us. How then can he fail also to give us everything else along with him? A patient man shows good sense,
but a quick-tempered man displays the height of folly.Next verse!With image
