Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. | This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. |

The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing. | The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. |

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? | God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? |
Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord. | “Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?” declares the Lord. “Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the Lord. |
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. | Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance. |
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. | Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. |
