Jesus (4/8)

  • But our citizenship is in heaven, and from there we await our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
  • In my Father’s house
    there are many dwelling places.
    If there were not,
    would I have told you
that I am going to prepare a place for you?
  • I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.
  • On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and cried out,
    “If anyone is thirsty,
let him come to me and drink.”
  • The one who gives this testimony says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”
    Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
  • For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so too do we believe that God will bring forth with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
  • Do not work for food that perishes
but for the food that endures for eternal life,
which the Son of Man will give you.
    For it is on him
that God the Father has set his seal.
  • Blessed are you when people hate you and ostracize you, when they insult you and denounce your name as evil on account of the Son of Man.
  • I am confident of this: that the one who began a good work in you will bring it to completion on the day of Christ Jesus.
  • The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
  • To these God chose to make known how rich is the priceless glory that this mystery brings to the Gentiles—Christ in you, your hope of glory.
  • Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace but a sword.
  • Therefore, if the Son sets you free,
you then will truly be free.
  • But for that very reason I was treated mercifully, so that in me Jesus Christ might exhibit his inexhaustible patience, making me an example for those who would come to believe in him for eternal life.
  • For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so too, through Christ, do we receive our consolation.
  • To anyone who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, as I myself overcame and sat with my Father on his throne.
  • Above his head was inscribed the charge against him: “This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.”
  • Whatever you ask in my name I will do,
so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
  • The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
  • Behold, he is coming with the clouds;
    every eye will see him,
    even those who pierced him.
All the peoples of the earth will mourn him.
    So shall it be. Amen.
  • But Jesus has now received a ministry that is far superior, for he is the mediator of a far better covenant that has been established on better promises.
  • It was for freedom that Christ set us free. Therefore, stand firm and refuse to submit again to the yoke of slavery.
  • I have told you these things
so that my joy may be in you
and your joy may be complete.
  • I am the living bread that came down from heaven.
    Whoever eats this bread will live forever;
and the bread that I will give
is my flesh, for the life of the world.

While they were there, the time came for her to have her child, and she gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
