Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. | I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth More than my necessary food. |
But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined. | But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot has held fast to His steps; I have kept His way and not turned aside. |
Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict. | As for the Almighty, we cannot find Him; He is excellent in power, In judgment and abundant justice; He does not oppress. |
Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. | Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and worshiped. And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. | And the Lord restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. |
