Job - KJV & ESV

«To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend… Job 6:14»
To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend; but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty. He who withholds kindness from a friend forsakes the fear of the Almighty.
For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth. For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth.
Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict. The Almighty—we cannot find him; he is great in power; justice and abundant righteousness he will not violate.
And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord. And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your hand. Only against him do not stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.
Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. And he said, “Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?I have made a covenant with my eyes; how then could I gaze at a virgin?
Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty.Behold, blessed is the one whom God reproves; therefore despise not the discipline of the Almighty.
And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for his friends. And the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined. But he knows the way that I take; when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold. My foot has held fast to his steps; I have kept his way and have not turned aside.
Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.I have not departed from the commandment of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my portion of food.
