Chinese (traditional)- I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
- When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, no one can discover anything about their future.
- I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God.
- I rejoice in following your statutes
as one rejoices in great riches. - Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
- The father of a righteous child has great joy;
a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him. - Sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.
- Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
- Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.
- Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for God has already approved what you do.
- While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”
- But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.”
- My son, if your heart is wise,
then my heart will be glad indeed. - The precepts of the Lord are right,
giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
giving light to the eyes. - However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.
- But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves.
- Deceit is in the hearts of those who plot evil,
but those who promote peace have joy. - Remember your Creator
in the days of your youth,
before the days of trouble come
and the years approach when you will say,
“I find no pleasure in them”. - I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
- The prospect of the righteous is joy,
but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing. - In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.
- Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God.
- The vine is dried up
and the fig tree is withered;
the pomegranate, the palm and the apple tree—
all the trees of the field—are dried up.
Surely the people’s joy
is withered away. - A wise son brings joy to his father,
but a foolish son brings grief to his mother.
A fool spurns a parent’s discipline,
but whoever heeds correction shows prudence. How can a young person stay on the path of purity?
By living according to your word.Next verse!With image
