- But be very careful to obey all the commands and the instructions that Moses gave to you. Love the Lord your God, walk in all his ways, obey his commands, hold firmly to him, and serve him with all your heart and all your soul.
- And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers.
- Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.
- If you love me, obey my commandments.
- Well then, am I suggesting that the law of God is sinful? Of course not! In fact, it was the law that showed me my sin. I would never have known that coveting is wrong if the law had not said, “You must not covet.”
- For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power.
- Observe the requirements of the Lord your God, and follow all his ways. Keep the decrees, commands, regulations, and laws written in the Law of Moses so that you will be successful in all you do and wherever you go.
- Do not judge others, and you will not be judged.
- For the commandments say, “You must not commit adultery. You must not murder. You must not steal. You must not covet.” These—and other such commandments—are summed up in this one commandment: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
- He proclaimed his covenant—the Ten Commandments—which he commanded you to keep, and which he wrote on two stone tablets.
- Those who love your instructions have great peace
and do not stumble. - Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.
- Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God’s law.
- The instructions of the Lord are perfect,
reviving the soul.
The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple. - For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.
- Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins. Everyone who believes in him is made right in God’s sight—something the law of Moses could never do.
- That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty.
- You must diligently obey the commands of the Lord your God—all the laws and decrees he has given you.
- Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.
- When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
- But we have sinned and done wrong. We have rebelled against you and scorned your commands and regulations.
- Praise the Lord!
How joyful are those who fear the Lord
and delight in obeying his commands. - Remember, you must not make any idols of silver or gold to rival me.
- The wise are glad to be instructed,
but babbling fools fall flat on their faces. - Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose.
