- All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
- But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
- For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
- For thus saith the high and lofty One
that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy;
I dwell in the high and holy place,
with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit,
to revive the spirit of the humble,
and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. - For thus saith the Lord unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live.
- Teach me thy way, O Lord;
I will walk in thy truth:
unite my heart to fear thy name. - As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
- Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings;
and the years of thy life shall be many. - The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants:
and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. - The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof;
the world, and they that dwell therein. - All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
- And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.
- For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.
- But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
- And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
- Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
- Blessed are the undefiled in the way,
who walk in the law of the Lord. - For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light.
- Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
- For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
- Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
- Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance.
- Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him:
but the just shall live by his faith. - According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.
- For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
