- For thus saith the high and lofty One
that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy;
I dwell in the high and holy place,
with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit,
to revive the spirit of the humble,
and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. - Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings;
and the years of thy life shall be many. - As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
- For thus saith the Lord unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live.
- Teach me thy way, O Lord;
I will walk in thy truth:
unite my heart to fear thy name. - And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.
- The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants:
and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. - The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof;

- Blessed are the undefiled in the way,
who walk in the law of the Lord. - For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
- Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
- Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
- According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.
- For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light.
- For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

- Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him:
but the just shall live by his faith. - For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end.
