- God is our refuge and strength,

I will carry you along and save you. - Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.
- For the Lord loves justice,
and he will never abandon the godly.
He will keep them safe forever,

- As the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord.” When people commend themselves, it doesn’t count for much. The important thing is for the Lord to commend them.
- For the word of the Lord holds true,
and we can trust everything he does. - Work brings profit,
but mere talk leads to poverty! - For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens.
Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. - I cried out, “I am slipping!”
but your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me. - You who love the Lord, hate evil!
He protects the lives of his godly people
and rescues them from the power of the wicked. - “For the mountains may move
and the hills disappear,
but even then my faithful love for you will remain.
My covenant of blessing will never be broken,”
says the Lord, who has mercy on you. - He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect.
Everything he does is just and fair.
He is a faithful God who does no wrong;
how just and upright he is! - Therefore, tell them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: No more delay! I will now do everything I have threatened. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!’
- Look straight ahead,
and fix your eyes on what lies before you. - He will cover you with his feathers.
He will shelter you with his wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection. - The grass withers and the flowers fade,
but the word of our God stands forever. - For who is God except the Lord?
Who but our God is a solid rock? - Lord, don’t hold back your tender mercies from me.
Let your unfailing love and faithfulness always protect me. - The Lord is righteous in everything he does;
he is filled with kindness.
