- God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

until he reveals his plans to his servants the prophets. - This is a trustworthy saying:
If we die with him,
we will also live with him. - No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you.
- God is not a man, so he does not lie.
He is not human, so he does not change his mind.
Has he ever spoken and failed to act?
Has he ever promised and not carried it through? - “Don’t tear your clothing in your grief,
but tear your hearts instead.”
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is merciful and compassionate,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.
He is eager to relent and not punish. - For who is God except the Lord?
Who but our God is a solid rock? - Teach me your ways, O Lord,
that I may live according to your truth!
Grant me purity of heart,
so that I may honor you. - I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved.
- You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. Honor your father and mother. Love your neighbor as yourself.
- May the Lord our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us or abandon us.
- An honest witness does not lie;
a false witness breathes lies. - The Lord detests lying lips,
but he delights in those who tell the truth.
