- Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
He leads the humble in what is right,
and teaches the humble his way. - For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.
- So Peter opened his mouth and said: “Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.”
- He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is a shield to those who walk in integrity. - Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. - I have taught you the way of wisdom;
I have led you in the paths of uprightness. - The tongue of the righteous is choice silver;
the heart of the wicked is of little worth. - Train up a child in the way he should go;
even when he is old he will not depart from it. - Blessed are those whose way is blameless,
who walk in the law of the Lord! - Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
- But he knows the way that I take;
when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold.
My foot has held fast to his steps;
I have kept his way and have not turned aside. - For the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true.
- The hope of the righteous brings joy,
but the expectation of the wicked will perish. - Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him,
but the righteous shall live by his faith. - Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness.
- The memory of the righteous is a blessing,
but the name of the wicked will rot. - I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
- The Rock, his work is perfect,
for all his ways are justice.
A God of faithfulness and without iniquity,
just and upright is he. - He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.
- Guarding the paths of justice
and watching over the way of his saints. - In the path of your judgments,
O Lord, we wait for you;
your name and remembrance
are the desire of our soul. - If you will diligently listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, your healer.
- Riches do not profit in the day of wrath,
but righteousness delivers from death. - For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God; so turn, and live.
- Let your eyes look directly forward,
and your gaze be straight before you.
