- For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.
- Whoever is wise, let him understand these things;
whoever is discerning, let him know them;
for the ways of the Lord are right,
and the upright walk in them,
but transgressors stumble in them. - He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is a shield to those who walk in integrity. - And it will be righteousness for us, if we are careful to do all this commandment before the Lord our God, as he has commanded us.
- We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
- I have taught you the way of wisdom;
I have led you in the paths of uprightness. - For the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true.
- Train up a child in the way he should go;
even when he is old he will not depart from it. - Blessed are those whose way is blameless,
who walk in the law of the Lord! - But he knows the way that I take;
when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold.
My foot has held fast to his steps;
I have kept his way and have not turned aside. - Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
- The hope of the righteous brings joy,
but the expectation of the wicked will perish. - Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him,
but the righteous shall live by his faith. - The tongue of the righteous is choice silver;
the heart of the wicked is of little worth. - The Rock, his work is perfect,
for all his ways are justice.
A God of faithfulness and without iniquity,
just and upright is he. - He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.
- I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
- For you bless the righteous, O Lord;
you cover him with favor as with a shield. - Guarding the paths of justice
and watching over the way of his saints. - Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness.
- The memory of the righteous is a blessing,
but the name of the wicked will rot. - Riches do not profit in the day of wrath,
but righteousness delivers from death. - Let your eyes look directly forward,
and your gaze be straight before you. - “All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up.
- If you will diligently listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, your healer.
