- Better is the little that the righteous has
than the abundance of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
but the Lord upholds the righteous. - In you, O Lord, do I take refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
in your righteousness deliver me! - For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do.
- The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
but the mouth of the wicked, what is perverse. - Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.
- I will greatly rejoice in the Lord;
my soul shall exult in my God,
for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation;
he has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. - Do not envy a man of violence
and do not choose any of his ways,
for the devious person is an abomination to the Lord,
but the upright are in his confidence. - Thus says the Lord of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another, do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, or the poor, and let none of you devise evil against another in your heart.
- He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.
- The Lord is righteous in all his ways
and kind in all his works. - “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything.
- Hear my prayer, O Lord;
give ear to my pleas for mercy!
In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness! - Give justice to the weak and the fatherless;
maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. - Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you,
and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
blessed are all those who wait for him. - You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
- But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.
- Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.
- For as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous.
- And it will be righteousness for us, if we are careful to do all this commandment before the Lord our God, as he has commanded us.
- Whoever is wise, let him understand these things;
whoever is discerning, let him know them;
for the ways of the Lord are right,
and the upright walk in them,
but transgressors stumble in them. - I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.
- But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.
- My soul yearns for you in the night;
my spirit within me earnestly seeks you.
For when your judgments are in the earth,
the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. - He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is a shield to those who walk in integrity.
