- For Yahweh is our judge.
Yahweh is our lawgiver.
Yahweh is our king.
He will save us. - There is a way which seems right to a man,
but in the end it leads to death. - The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
but the mouth of the wicked is perverse. - I will greatly rejoice in Yahweh!
My soul will be joyful in my God,
for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation.
He has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. - In you, Yahweh, I take refuge.
Let me never be disappointed.
Deliver me in your righteousness. - He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed by his wounds.
- But you go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ for I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
- “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are expedient. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be brought under the power of anything.
- Thus has Yahweh of Armies spoken, saying, ‘Execute true judgment, and show kindness and compassion every man to his brother. Don’t oppress the widow, the fatherless, the foreigner, nor the poor; and let none of you devise evil against his brother in your heart.’
- Yahweh is righteous in all his ways,
and gracious in all his works. - You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can’t be hidden.
- Therefore Yahweh will wait, that he may be gracious to you; and therefore he will be exalted, that he may have mercy on you, for Yahweh is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for him.
- Don’t envy the man of violence.
Choose none of his ways.
For the perverse is an abomination to Yahweh,
but his friendship is with the upright. - Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
but violence covers the mouth of the wicked. - Peter opened his mouth and said, “Truly I perceive that God doesn’t show favoritism; but in every nation he who fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.”
- For as through the one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the one, many will be made righteous.
- He lays up sound wisdom for the upright.
He is a shield to those who walk in integrity. - Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Hear my prayer, Yahweh.
Listen to my petitions.
In your faithfulness and righteousness, relieve me. - Good and upright is Yahweh,
therefore he will instruct sinners in the way.
He will guide the humble in justice.
He will teach the humble his way. - Blessed are those whose ways are blameless,
who walk according to Yahweh’s law. - Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless.
Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. - But he who didn’t know, and did things worthy of stripes, will be beaten with few stripes. To whomever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom much was entrusted, of him more will be asked.
- Train up a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not depart from it. - But to you who fear my name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings. You will go out and leap like calves of the stall.
