- Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
- For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

for thou art the God of my salvation;
on thee do I wait all the day. - For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
- For the Lord is our judge,

he will save us. - I have blotted out, as a thick cloud,
thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins:
return unto me;
for I have redeemed thee. - For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
- The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants:
and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. - For thus saith the high and lofty One
that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy;
I dwell in the high and holy place,
with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit,
to revive the spirit of the humble,
and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. - Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.
- Salvation belongeth unto the Lord:
thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah. - For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
- Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
- For I know that my redeemer liveth,
and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth. - But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.
- The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
- But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
- Therefore I will look unto the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation:
my God will hear me. - Turn us again, O Lord God of hosts,
cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. - How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings,
that publisheth peace;
that bringeth good tidings of good,
that publisheth salvation;
that saith unto Zion,
Thy God reigneth! - He only is my rock and my salvation;
he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved. - As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.
- And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
