Chinese (traditional)- For this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure.
- Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity
and passing over the transgression
of the remnant of your possession?
He does not retain his anger forever,
because he delights in showing clemency. - You must understand this, my beloved: let everyone be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.
- Wealth hastily gotten will dwindle,
but those who gather little by little will increase it. - Let marriage be held in honor by all, and let the marriage bed be kept undefiled; for God will judge fornicators and adulterers.
- How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of the messenger who announces peace,
who brings good news,
who announces salvation,
who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” - He gives power to the faint,
and strengthens the powerless. - Athletes exercise self-control in all things; they do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable one.
- A soft answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger. - A capable wife who can find?
She is far more precious than jewels. - Many shall be purified, cleansed, and refined, but the wicked shall continue to act wickedly. None of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand.
- Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
but those who hate to be rebuked are stupid. - Now John wore clothing of camel's hair with a leather belt around his waist, and his food was locusts and wild honey.
- Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made loincloths for themselves.
- Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and never treat them harshly.
- Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, as indeed you are doing.
- He heals the brokenhearted,
and binds up their wounds. - Those who withhold kindness from a friend
forsake the fear of the Almighty. - Until a spirit from on high is poured out on us,
and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field,
and the fruitful field is deemed a forest. - Fools show their anger at once,
but the prudent ignore an insult. - Even though you intended to do harm to me, God intended it for good, in order to preserve a numerous people, as he is doing today.
- Now, discipline always seems painful rather than pleasant at the time, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
- But those who want to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.
- For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything; the only thing that counts is faith working through love.
- Do not be deceived:
“Bad company ruins good morals.”
God abides in those who confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and they abide in God. Do not adorn yourselves outwardly by braiding your hair, and by wearing gold ornaments or fine clothing; rather, let your adornment be the inner self with the lasting beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in God's sight.Next verse! With image
