Bible Verses about '17:5'
- A friend loves at all times,
and kinsfolk are born to share adversity. - How happy is the one whom God reproves;
therefore do not despise the discipline of the Almighty. - While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud overshadowed them, and from the cloud a voice said, “This is my Son, the Beloved; with him I am well pleased; listen to him!”
- So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.
- I cried aloud to him,
and he was extolled with my tongue. - Iron sharpens iron,
and one person sharpens the wits of another. - Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets; I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.
- The Lord is just in all his ways,
and kind in all his doings. - So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!
- Anyone, then, who knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, commits sin.
- So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ.
- A cheerful heart is a good medicine,
but a downcast spirit dries up the bones. - Fine speech is not becoming to a fool;
still less is false speech to a ruler. - Grandchildren are the crown of the aged,
and the glory of children is their parents. - And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased.”
- Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
- Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
- From that time Jesus began to proclaim, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
- Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed;
save me, and I shall be saved;
for you are my praise. - Whoever heeds instruction is on the path to life,
but one who rejects a rebuke goes astray. - I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but I ask you to protect them from the evil one.
- One who forgives an affront fosters friendship,
but one who dwells on disputes will alienate a friend. - And the world and its desire are passing away, but those who do the will of God live forever.
- Learn to do good;
seek justice,
rescue the oppressed,
defend the orphan,
plead for the widow. - And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
- If any of you sin without knowing it, doing any of the things that by the Lord's commandments ought not to be done, you have incurred guilt, and are subject to punishment.
- While God has overlooked the times of human ignorance, now he commands all people everywhere to repent.
- Even fools who keep silent are considered wise;
when they close their lips, they are deemed intelligent. - To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
- For what the flesh desires is opposed to the Spirit, and what the Spirit desires is opposed to the flesh; for these are opposed to each other, to prevent you from doing what you want.
- Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
- For ‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said,
‘For we too are his offspring.’ - The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. - If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy that person. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple.
- For this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure.
- Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us,
and prosper for us the work of our hands—
O prosper the work of our hands! - You must diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his decrees, and his statutes that he has commanded you.
- And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
- I made your name known to them, and I will make it known, so that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.
- For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, “The one who is righteous will live by faith.”
- How does God's love abide in anyone who has the world's goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help?
- Ah Lord God! It is you who made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.
- I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation as you come to know him.
- “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” For it is not those who commend themselves that are approved, but those whom the Lord commends.
- Every generous act of giving, with every perfect gift, is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
- But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without a trace of partiality or hypocrisy.
- I urge you, brothers and sisters, to keep an eye on those who cause dissensions and offenses, in opposition to the teaching that you have learned; avoid them.
- Better is a little that the righteous person has
than the abundance of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
but the Lord upholds the righteous. - They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, my special possession on the day when I act, and I will spare them as parents spare their children who serve them.
- If the member refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if the offender refuses to listen even to the church, let such a one be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.
