- Just as in Adam all die, so all will be brought to life in Christ.
- To anyone who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, as I myself overcame and sat with my Father on his throne.
- In everything, deal with others as you would like them to deal with you. This is the Law and the Prophets.
- And if we know that he hears us
in regard to whatever we ask him,
we may be sure
that all we ask of him will be ours. - The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
a refuge in times of distress. - Take delight in the Lord,
and he will grant you what your heart desires. - Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that weighs us down and the sins that so easily distract us and with perseverance run the race that lies ahead of us.
- Therefore, accept one another for the glory of God, just as Christ has accepted you.
- For just as through the disobedience of one man the many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one man the many will be made righteous.
- Therefore, encourage one another and strengthen one another, as indeed you are doing.
- And so does kindness, O Lord.
You reward each person
in accordance with his deeds. - This water prefigured Baptism, which now saves you. It does so not by the washing away of dirt from the body but by the pledge of a good conscience given to God through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so too do we believe that God will bring forth with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
- In much the same manner
will wisdom be sweet to your soul.
If you find it, you will have a future,
and your hope will not be cut off. - He who called you is holy. Therefore, be holy yourselves in all your conduct. For Scripture says, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
- But our citizenship is in heaven, and from there we await our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Jesus answered them, “Amen, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what has been done to this fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will be accomplished.”
- And let the peace of Christ reign in your hearts, because it was for this that you were called together in one body. Always be thankful.
- He is the head of the body,
that is, the Church.
He is the beginning,
the firstborn from the dead,
so that in every way
he should be supreme. - And we are witnesses to these things, as is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him.
- As a result, you are no longer strangers and foreigners. Rather, you are fellow citizens of the saints and members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone.
- So Christ, having been offered once to take away the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to bring salvation to those who are eagerly waiting for him.
- Just as the living Father sent me
and I have life because of the Father,
so whoever feeds upon me will live because of me. - Because of this, God greatly exalted him
and bestowed on him the name
that is above all other names,
so that at the name of Jesus
every knee should bend
of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth. - I understand that man’s greatest happiness is to be glad and do well throughout his life. And when we eat and drink and find satisfaction in all our labors, this is a gift of God.
A fool spurns his father’s correction,
but whoever heeds admonition is prudent.
