- Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house, and thus put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts; see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing.
- God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble. - And he said to them, “Take care! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; for one's life does not consist in the abundance of possessions.”

- Tell slaves to be submissive to their masters and to give satisfaction in every respect; they are not to talk back, not to pilfer, but to show complete and perfect fidelity, so that in everything they may be an ornament to the doctrine of God our Savior.
- Anxiety weighs down the human heart,
but a good word cheers it up. - You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid.
- But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the human heart conceived,
what God has prepared for those who love him” - Therefore, brothers and sisters, be all the more eager to confirm your call and election, for if you do this, you will never stumble. For in this way, entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly provided for you.
- Pleasant words are like a honeycomb,
sweetness to the soul and health to the body. - But I say to you, Do not swear at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
- A gentle tongue is a tree of life,
but perverseness in it breaks the spirit. - Out of my distress I called on the Lord;

they are the joy of my heart. - And he said, “It is what comes out of a person that defiles. For it is from within, from the human heart, that evil intentions come: fornication, theft, murder, adultery, avarice, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, envy, slander, pride, folly. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”
- For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.
- By insolence the heedless make strife,
but wisdom is with those who take advice. - With the loyal you show yourself loyal;
with the blameless you show yourself blameless. - Because no prophecy ever came by human will, but men and women moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
- Whoever walks in integrity walks securely,
but whoever follows perverse ways will be found out.
