- Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive.
- Whom have I in heaven but you?
And there is nothing on earth that I desire other than you. - Hence, as to the eating of food offered to idols, we know that “no idol in the world really exists,” and that “there is no God but one.”
- Jesus said to him, “If you are able!—All things can be done for the one who believes.”
- Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have boldness before God; and we receive from him whatever we ask, because we obey his commandments and do what pleases him.
- Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and of spirit, making holiness perfect in the fear of God.
- Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
- Who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works but according to his own purpose and grace. This grace was given to us in Christ Jesus before the ages began.
- So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
- I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
- Surely the Lord God does nothing,
without revealing his secret
to his servants the prophets. - If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask for whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
- For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. - For what will it profit them if they gain the whole world but forfeit their life? Or what will they give in return for their life?
- But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to make this freewill offering? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you.
- Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my thoughts.
See if there is any wicked way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting. - Those who eat must not despise those who abstain, and those who abstain must not pass judgment on those who eat; for God has welcomed them.
- Shun youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
- Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
- This means understanding that the law is laid down not for the innocent but for the lawless and disobedient, for the godless and sinful, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their father or mother, for murderers, fornicators, sodomites, slave traders, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to the sound teaching that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.
