- Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.
- Think about it: Just as a parent disciplines a child, the Lord your God disciplines you for your own good.
- In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.
- When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
- In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself.
- For just as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so my ways are higher than your ways
and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. - As for me, I look to the Lord for help.
I wait confidently for God to save me,
and my God will certainly hear me. - Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure.
- For we will be counted as righteous when we obey all the commands the Lord our God has given us.
- For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens.
Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. - And may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows.

for our hope is in you alone. - Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
- Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne.
- For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
- Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.

Our Father in heaven,
may your name be kept holy.
May your Kingdom come soon.
May your will be done on earth,
as it is in heaven. - You have tested us, O God;
you have purified us like silver. - And the Lord our God commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear him so he can continue to bless us and preserve our lives, as he has done to this day.
- The Sovereign Lord is my strength!
He makes me as surefooted as a deer,
able to tread upon the heights.
