  • And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day the Lord will be one and his name one.
  • But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine.
  • Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life.
  • When he realizes his guilt in any of these and confesses the sin he has committed, he shall bring to the Lord as his compensation for the sin that he has committed.
  • Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean;
    remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes;
    cease to do evil.
  • Whoever walks in integrity walks securely,
    but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.
  • And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
  • Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.
  • And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”
  • Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.
  • But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.
  • And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.”
  • Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
  • For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.
  • Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
  • And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
  • Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high,
    and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field,
    and the fruitful field is deemed a forest.
  • “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything.
  • For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
  • But they who wait for the Lord
    shall renew their strength;
    they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
    they shall run and not be weary;
    they shall walk and not faint.
  • Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.
  • Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness.
  • For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.
  • I will multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and will give to your offspring all these lands. And in your offspring all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
  • If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you today, by loving the Lord your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his rules, then you shall live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to take possession of it.

Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
