that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb?
Even these may forget,
yet I will not forget you.
Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are continually before me. - And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child.
- A wise son makes a glad father,
but a foolish son is a sorrow to his mother. - Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.

- My son, be attentive to my words;
incline your ear to my sayings.
Let them not escape from your sight;
keep them within your heart. - My son, do not forget my teaching,
but let your heart keep my commandments,
for length of days and years of life
and peace they will add to you. - My son, keep your father's commandment,
and forsake not your mother's teaching. - No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known.
- By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
and by the breath of his mouth all their host. - Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.
- In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.
- Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
- Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.
- For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
- As he came from his mother's womb he shall go again, naked as he came, and shall take nothing for his toil that he may carry away in his hand.
- And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
- They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, in the day when I make up my treasured possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him.

whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered. - Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
- For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
- For the Lord is our judge;
the Lord is our lawgiver;
the Lord is our king;
he will save us.
