- So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober.
- Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
- Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.
- Do not toil to acquire wealth;
be discerning enough to desist. - Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.
- The face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
to cut off the memory of them from the earth. - Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”
- Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.
- Get wisdom; get insight;
do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth. - For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh.
- So you shall keep my commandments and do them: I am the Lord.
- Judge not, that you be not judged.
- You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!
- As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.
- I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
- Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of the children of man is fully set to do evil.
- Do not swerve to the right or to the left;
turn your foot away from evil. - For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are open to their prayer.
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. - If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
- Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
- I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.
- When God saw what they did, how they turned from their evil way, God relented of the disaster that he had said he would do to them, and he did not do it.
- Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
- Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.
- And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.”
