And learn to do good. Pursue justice and rescue the oppressed; listen to the plea of the orphan and defend the widow.Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows.
Arise, O Lord! Lift up your hand, O God! Do not forget the afflicted.Arise, O Lord! Punish the wicked, O God! Do not ignore the helpless!
Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven.
Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.

The face of the Lord is turned against those who do evil, to erase all memory of them from the earth. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil; he will erase their memory from the earth.
Do not wear yourself out in the pursuit of wealth, and cease even to think about it.Don’t wear yourself out trying to get rich. Be wise enough to know when to quit.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled; be not afraid.I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
Everyone who seeks a prize submits himself to rigorous self-discipline in every respect. They do so to win a perishable crown, while we seek an imperishable one.All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.
Do not let anyone lead you astray. “Bad company corrupts good morals.”Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character.”
Blessed is the man whom God reproves. Therefore, do not reject the discipline of the Almighty. But consider the joy of those corrected by God! Do not despise the discipline of the Almighty when you sin.
Just as you do not know the path of the wind or how the body is formed in a woman’s womb, so you do not know the work of God, the Creator of all.Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things.
I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever abides in me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. Apart from me you can do nothing.Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we can approach God with confidence and receive from him whatever we ask, because we obey his commandments and do whatever is pleasing to him.Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence. And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him.
Now who is going to harm you if you are eager to do what is right? Now, who will want to harm you if you are eager to do good?
Whatever you do, do it wholeheartedly, as if you were doing it for the Lord and not for others, since you know that you will receive from the Lord an inheritance as your reward for you are serving the Lord Christ.Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer. However, the face of the Lord is set against those who do evil. The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil.
You believe that there is one God. You do well to assert that. But even the demons believe and tremble. You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror.
I do not set aside the grace of God, for if justification comes through the Law, then Christ died for nothing.I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.
Do not love the world or what is in the world. If anyone does love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.
Therefore, keep watch, for you do not know the day when your Lord is coming. So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming.
