- Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character.”
- But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.
- For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do.
- Those who love your instructions have great peace
and do not stumble. - Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.
- Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.
- See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people.
- I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
- And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?
- So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.
- You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror.
- For the Scriptures say,
“If you want to enjoy life
and see many happy days,
keep your tongue from speaking evil
and your lips from telling lies.
Turn away from evil and do good.
Search for peace, and work to maintain it.” - My child, listen to me and do as I say,
and you will have a long, good life. - My child, never forget the things I have taught you.
Store my commands in your heart.
If you do this, you will live many years,
and your life will be satisfying. - Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things.
- You must faithfully keep all my commands by putting them into practice, for I am the Lord.
- John replied, “If you have two shirts, give one to the poor. If you have food, share it with those who are hungry.”
- But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you.
- Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.
It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret. - “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.”
- When you see the tassels, you will remember and obey all the commands of the Lord instead of following your own desires and defiling yourselves, as you are prone to do.
- Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children.
- Don’t get sidetracked;
keep your feet from following evil. - Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.
- Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?”
