Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord. | Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord. |
The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; the mind of the wicked is of little worth. | The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth. |
A cheerful heart is a good medicine, but a downcast spirit dries up the bones. | A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. |
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight. | The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. |
Those who withhold kindness from a friend forsake the fear of the Almighty. | To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend; but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty. |

The reward for humility and fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life. | By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honour, and life. |
The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry. | The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. |
For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God. | For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. |
But be doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves. | But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. |
All deeds are right in the sight of the doer, but the Lord weighs the heart. | Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts. |
Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of children is their parents. | Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers. |
