- Keep me safe, O God,
for I have come to you for refuge. - Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
- And may the Lord our God show us his approval
and make our efforts successful.
Yes, make our efforts successful! - As for me, I look to the Lord for help.
I wait confidently for God to save me,
and my God will certainly hear me. - We love each other because he loved us first.
- For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ.
- But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.
- And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
- By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.
- Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord,
for our hope is in you alone. - I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.
- And the Lord our God commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear him so he can continue to bless us and preserve our lives, as he has done to this day.
- God blesses those whose hearts are pure,
for they will see God. - As the deer longs for streams of water,
so I long for you, O God. - Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.
- All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.
- See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him.
- And forgive us our sins,
as we have forgiven those who sin against us. - All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God.
- This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
- The Lord is good,
a strong refuge when trouble comes.
He is close to those who trust in him. - God blesses those who work for peace,
for they will be called the children of God. - Come, let us worship and bow down.
Let us kneel before the Lord our maker. - For,
There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus.
